The 12.2 million acres of public lands in Arizona offers an amazing array of settings including breathtaking desert scapes, lush forests, labyrinth canyons, rivers and lakes. Across the region, facilities such as day use areas, trails, campgrounds, boat launches, visitor centers, and plenty of open space offer some of best hiking, camping, fishing, boating, horseback riding, birding, fossil collecting, and off-roading in the Southwest, along with opportunities to learn about nature, history, and culture. Most BLM campgrounds and campsites operate on a first come, first served basis but there are a few that you can make reservations. To learn more about camping and recreating on BLM lands click here.
